Building Techniques

• We prefabricate most buildings in the workshop

• On site the main structure will be up and watertightin a week to ten days (a great advantage in the British climate).

• We normally build a post and beam structures which are built on 400mm square concrete pads to minimise the ground works and the cement used in foundations, both of which greatly reduce the cost and impact on build on the environment. (Cement production accounts for 10% of all carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere).

• Our structures are built to breathe, that is to say moisture created within the building can migrate thorugh the fabric of the structure to the outside. This eliminates any condensation and damp problems , crucial to a healthy environment.

• High levels of insulation and airtightness create extremely energy efficient buildings.
