Building FAQs

Please find below some of your more recently asked questions regarding the Pioneer process and products.

1. Will planning permission be required?

You are likely to need full planning permission, with building regulations, for permanent residential, commercial and public buildings. Planning permission is also required for an Eco Lodge but in some instances (i.e. if you already have mobile home), no further permission is required.

2. How can I get a realistic quote for the work?

If you would like a more comprehensive quote please do not hesitate to contact the office. We need to know the size of the building and the number of rooms you would like, along with an idea of the finishes (turf roof/recycled tiles) etc. If you are able to sketch up a rough drawing we can work to these and develop them through to full architectural drawings for planning applications if required. We would then undertake a site visit to assess the access/foundations and then we can agree a final contractual quote.

3. Could I visit a show-home?

If you are at the stage of drawing up plans for a build on your land then please do not hesitate to contact our offices and we can arrange a visit to one of our ‘working’ builds.

4. How long does a build take?

Our average build time for Timber-framed Homes is between 8 - 12 weeks, and the average build time for one Eco Lodge is 6—8 weeks. Once we have assessed your project and looked at important things like access and foundations, we will give you an accurate and deliverable time-frame for completion.
